Custom or prefabricated, and how to tell which you need.
A fence runs at a steady interval until it reaches an opening, and the gate is where that rhythm has to stop and start again cleanly. A prefabricated gate is the faster, more economical answer when the opening is a standard width and the fence line next to it is common enough to match.
A custom gate is the answer when the opening is not standard, or when the fence it needs to match is not either. Which one applies is usually clear on the estimate visit, once the opening and the existing fence line have actually been measured.

Automation is an access decision before it is a hardware one.
On a residential driveway, an opener is mostly about convenience, closing the property without someone getting out of the car to do it. The decision that matters most is not the opener itself but how the household actually wants to come and go.
On a commercial site, automation is about controlled access, deciding who gets onto the property and when, rather than just opening and closing a barrier. The hardware follows that decision, not the other way around.
Chapter 03
A gate is the part of a fence that moves, so it is the part that fails.
Every other section of a fence just has to stand still. A gate has to swing true, latch in the same place every time, and keep doing both after months of hinges taking the weight. That is where most gate problems actually start, not in the fence itself.
Clark Florian, a customer, described exactly that after his install: the latch lined up perfectly and the gate closed automatically, and when a separate gate was not closing properly, it got troubleshot and fixed in about a minute. That is one customer's account of his own gate, not a guarantee for every site, but it is the standard we are aiming at.

A gate that does not match the fence next to it reads as an afterthought, a part bought separately and bolted onto someone else's fence. Because we fabricate both, the material, the finish and the style carry across the opening instead of stopping at it.
